Strength is estimated from entropy: length × character variety. Longer beats fancier.

🛡️ How to Use This Password Generator

  1. 1.Go long. 16 characters is a great default. Aim for at least 12 everywhere, and 16+ for email, banking and work accounts.
  2. 2.Keep all character types on. Letters + numbers + symbols give the biggest guessing space. Only turn symbols off if a specific site forbids them.
  3. 3.One password per account — no exceptions. A breach on one site should never unlock your other accounts. Generate a fresh one every time.
  4. 4.Store them in a password manager. Bitwarden, 1Password or your browser's built-in manager — you remember one master password, it remembers the rest.
  5. 5.Turn on two-factor authentication too. A strong password plus 2FA is the combo that actually stops account takeovers.

❓ FAQ

Are passwords from this generator safe?

Yes. They're created in your browser with the Web Crypto API — the same cryptographic randomness your operating system uses. Nothing is transmitted, stored or logged.

What makes a password strong?

Length and randomness. A 16+ character mix of letters, numbers and symbols tops 100 bits of entropy — beyond practical brute force.

How long should my password be?

12 characters minimum for everyday accounts; 16+ for email, banking and anything important. Every extra character multiplies the cracking time.

Can I reuse one strong password everywhere?

No — reuse is the #1 way accounts get taken over after a leak. Generate a unique password per site and let a password manager remember them.
